It’s not every day that a business endorses a political candidate. In fact, it’s often frowned upon to do so. As a businessman myself, I completely understand and often agree with this philosophy. However, after considering the uncomfortable political climate that we’re currently in and the bold mission statement that our publication works so tirelessly to achieve, my team and I consider it our responsibility to announce our proud support and endorsement of President Barack Obama.

I’m sure—or at least I hope—you all have been following the roller coaster that has been the poll statistics and ratings and have heard each candidate’s stance on key topics, so I won’t burden you with reminders of the 47% remark, the dismissal of citizens that are afforded fewer opportunities or the retrogression that could come about should former Governor Romney become president. (See our article Mysterious Mitt) I will remind you that President Obama is a man of integrity who promotes principles that benefit all of America and who has held true to most of what he promised us in 2008. I will also remind you that President Obama has done more for the LGBT community than any other U.S. president to date.

Over the next couple of weeks, we at TRUTH Magazine will provide you with updates, responses, and statistics about what the Obama administration has done for our community as well as the president’s plan for the next four years. Additionally, in the November / December issue of TRUTH, which is out today, we’ve included a timeline that shows just a fraction of the president’s accomplishments.

Team TRUTH is doing everything that we can do to support our president. And in the days leading up to the election, there are a number of things you can do, too:

• Vote early. Across the country, voting has begun.
• Volunteer. There’s no gesture too small. Inform others; engage in dialogue. Elections can be intimidating and confusing. Help out your community and educate someone.
• Help people get to the polls. Don’t let transportation be the reason someone doesn’t vote.
